His story

Sulayman inherited from Dawud, and was taught the speech of birds (27:16). His army of jinn, people and birds was gathered for him (27:17). When he missed the hoopoe, it came back with news of a queen of Saba whose people worshipped the sun (27:20-24).

He sent her a letter calling her to submit (27:28-31). She consulted her chiefs, then sent a gift, which he turned down (27:32-37). One who had knowledge of the Book brought her throne to him in the blink of an eye (27:40). When she arrived and saw the palace paved with glass, she declared her submission, with Sulayman, to Allah, Lord of the worlds (27:44).

She was told, "Enter the palace." But when she saw it, she thought it was a body of water[1077] and uncovered her shins [to wade through]. He said, "Indeed, it is a palace [whose floor is] made smooth with glass." She said, "My Lord, indeed I have wronged myself, and I submit with Solomon to Allāh, Lord of the worlds."

(Sulaimân (Solomon)) said: "Verily, it is a Sarh (a glass surface with water underneath it or a palace)." She said: "My Lord! Verily, I have wronged myself, and I submit [in Islâm, together with Sulaimân (Solomon)] to Allâh, the Lord of the ‘Âlamîn (mankind, jinn and all that exists)."
