Six days of Shawwal

ست من شوال

Following Ramadan with six days of Shawwal is like fasting the whole year.

What it holds

Abu Ayyub reports in Muslim that the Prophet ﷺ said whoever fasts Ramadan and follows it with six days of Shawwal, it is as if he had fasted the whole year.

islamweb's fatwa explains it by the rule that a good deed earns ten like it: Ramadan counts as ten months and the six days as two. Its other fatwas say they may be fasted together or apart, and that they are not called 'the white days'.
