His story

Shu'ayb was sent to his people of Madyan. He called them to worship Allah alone and to stop cheating in measure and weight (11:84; 7:85). The Quran also tells of him calling "the companions of the thicket" (26:176). islamweb's fatwa treats them as the same people, a point scholars discuss.

A few of his people believed, but most rejected him, and Allah punished those who denied him and saved the believers (11:94). The story is told in al-A'raf, Hud, ash-Shu'ara and al-'Ankabut.
