His story

Lut believed with Ibrahim and was sent to a people who committed an indecency no one in the worlds had done before them (7:80). He called them to fear Allah and obey him, and asked no wage (26:163-164).

They threatened to drive him out (26:167) and dared him to bring Allah's punishment (29:29). Angels came to him with news of the town's destruction (29:31-34). Allah saved Lut and his family, except his wife, who was among those who stayed behind (26:170-171). The town was turned upside down and stones of baked clay rained on it (11:82). Its ruins were left as a clear sign (29:35).
