His story

Hud was sent to his people, 'Ad, who lived at al-Ahqaf (46:21) and had succeeded the people of Nuh with great strength of build (7:69). He called them to worship Allah alone (7:65), asked no wage of them (11:51), and told them to seek forgiveness so that Allah would send them rain and add strength to their strength (11:52).

They called him foolish and a liar (7:66), and claimed that one of their gods had touched him with harm (11:54). He declared himself free of their idols and put his trust in Allah (11:54-56). Allah saved Hud and the believers with him (7:72), and destroyed the rest with a barren wind that left nothing it touched unturned to ruin (51:41-42).

islamweb notes that Ibn Kathir regarded the stories of a golden city of "Iram" as Isra'iliyyat with no sound basis. Hud's lineage, and where his grave is, are matters on which reports differ.
