The event

Khadijah bint Khuwaylid, a woman of standing and wealth in Makkah, hired men to trade with her money. Hearing of Muhammad's honesty, she sent him to Syria with her goods and her servant Maysarah, and her profit doubled. Through her friend Nafisah she then proposed marriage, and he accepted.

islamweb's article, quoting Ibn Hajar, says he was twenty-five and she was a widow of forty; other reports give her a younger age. He married no one else while she lived, and she bore him all his children except Ibrahim. Years after her death 'A'isha said she was never as jealous of any wife as of Khadijah, because of how often he remembered her (al-Bukhari 3818).

Narrated `Aisha:I did not feel jealous of any of the wives of the Prophet (ﷺ) as much as I did of Khadija though I did not see her, but the Prophet (ﷺ) used to mention her very often, and when ever he slaughtered a sheep, he would cut its parts and send them to the women friends of Khadija. When I sometimes said to him, "(You treat Khadija in such a way) as if there is no woman on earth except Khadija," he would say, "Khadija was such-and-such, and from her I had children
