Daily SunnahThe mosque and prayer

Supplication between the call and the iqamah

الدعاء بين الأذان والإقامة

Supplication made between the call to prayer and the iqamah is not turned back.

Sahih

The practice

Anas reports in at-Tirmidhi that the Prophet ﷺ said supplication between the call to prayer and the iqamah is not rejected; at-Tirmidhi's graders, Ahmad Shakir, al-Albani and Zubair 'Ali Za'i, grade it sahih.

islamweb's fatwa says that however long the time between the two, all of it is a time when an answer is hoped for, and quotes al-Munawi on the conditions of supplication: a present heart, humility, repentance and asking forgiveness, and giving back what was taken wrongly.
