Life
She was the mother of 'Ammar ibn Yasir, and her father's name is given as Khayyat or Khubbat. She was among the first Muslims in Makkah and was persecuted for her faith.
Abu Jahl killed her with a spear, and she is counted the first martyr in Islam: Ibn Hajar reports this from Mujahid with an authentic chain (islamweb fatwa 28977). She died in the sixth year of the mission, before Khadija.
